I contacted Southwest Awnings, Inc. and asked them if they were "up for a challenge" , as no other company I'd contacted would attempt the design I envisioned. "They" said it couldn't be done. My home had an existing balcony with a custom curved wrought iron railing and fascia  and I wanted to maintain the curve BUT wanted a solid roof on my awning.  The awning, including stucco columns, blends into the homes original construction beautifully, compliments the curved design and provides the shade/protection we wanted.

You couldn't touch our doorknob during the summer- it got too hot ! We wanted shade protection but didn't want to lose the effect of the arched entry that gave our home such a unique look. We asked Southwest Awnings, Inc. to prepare a design that would meet the criteria but not look like an "add on". The result was a beautiful awning that provides the necessary shade to our front window and entry way AND beautifully accents the unique curved entry.

My patio footprint has quite a unique shape and  limited space. I have several new features including a fireplace and outdoor kitchen that I wanted to accent while providing different levels of coverage under the awning. Southwest Awnings, Inc. designed  my custom combination awning which provides solid coverage in the appropriate areas and transitions to the open lattice exactly as planned. The custom angles and miters on the solid portion accent the fireplace and a customized look to the awning.
